I would like to see someone use the device first. Is there a video I can watch?
Yes, Click here for a demonstration video of someone using the device.
What does using the TAP collection device feel like?
Most users do not feel anything when the blue button is pushed, as the needles only insert into the top surface of the skin. During collection, you may not feel anything other than a light vacuum or tugging sensation at the collection site.
What should I do if the Warming Pack in my kit was activated before the kit arrived?
If the Warming Pack is white, cloudy, and hard, it has already been activated. Don't worry! The Warming Pack is easy to reset and reuse.
Simply place the Warming Pack in a small pan of boiling water and stir. Allow Warming Park to boil for about 5 minutes, until the contents of the Warming Pack are completely clear and liquid.
Carefully remove the Warming Pack from the boiling water and lay it flat on a heat resistant surface. Allow Warming Pack to cool in open air. Once the Warming Pack has returned to room temperature, you may activate it following the instructions that came with your kit.
If the liquid in the Warming Pack is even slightly cloudy after boiling, resume boiling the Warming Park until the liquid is completely clear.
Why do I need to warm the collection site?
Warming the site helps the blood flow more easily and quickly into the device. Warming is an important step in making sure that your collection is a success by providing a complete sample for testing. If the arm becomes uncomfortably warm, stop warming and continue to collection process.
What should I do if the blood level does not reach the target
If the blood has not filled to the minimum target fill line(s) on the collection tube within 4 minutes of activating the device, the TAP device should be removed from the skin and the sample tube should be capped. If you collected any blood sample, you should return it to the lab following the instructions in the kit.
Please contact CustomerCare@yourbiohealth.com.
What should I do if I collected more blood than the target fill?
Remove the device from the arm; then complete the remainder of the instructions and return your sample to the lab as instructed.
DO NOT pour out or remove blood from the collection tube, even if it is filled above the target collection lines.
I lost the tube where the blood sample goes. What should I do
DO NOT use the device without the sample tube.
I lost the instructions set. What should I do next?
You can download a copy of the kit instructions here.
I lost or cannot use the return box, return envelope, or some other part of the kit. What should I do next?
The color of the cap on the tube I got is different from the color of the cap shown on the box or shown on the instructions. What should I do?
Different color tube caps are used to indicate different types of tests that sample will be used for.
Double-check the Lab Request Form which came with your kit and confirm that it lists the test you intend to submit. If yes, you can go ahead and use the kit you received.
If the Lab Request Form has any incorrect information, Please contact CustomerCare@yourbiohealth.com.
I have another question. Who should I contact?
What are antibodies?
Antibodies are proteins made by the immune system to fight infections like viruses and may help to ward off future occurrences by those same infections. Antibodies can take days or weeks to develop in the body following exposure to a virus or following vaccination. It is unknown how long antibodies stay in the blood.
What do COVID-19 antibody tests measure?
What does a COVID-19 antibody test mean?
A COVID-19 antibody test will help assess if you have antibodies to the virus that causes COVID-19. An antibody test may not be able to show if you have a current infection, because it can take 1-3 weeks after infection to make antibodies.
If you have a positive test result, it is possible that you have or previously had COVID-19 and that you have developed an antibody response to the virus.
A positive test result may also occur after receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine.
What does a positive COVID-19 antibody test mean?
A result of POSITIVE means that antibodies to the SARS-COV-2 virus were detected in your sample.
If you have been vaccinated: A result of POSITIVE suggests that your body produced antibodies to SARS-COV-2 from the vaccine or a prior infection.
If you have NOT been vaccinated: A result of POSITIVE suggests that your body produced antibodies to SARS-COV-2 from a prior infection or exposure, even if you did not experience symptoms.
Detecting the presence of antibodies does not necessarily mean you are immune to the SARS-COV-2 virus. Results from this test should NOT be used to diagnose a current SARS-COV-2 infection or to inform about the status of an infection. Conclusions about protective immunity to infection cannot be made on the basis of the results provided.
It is possible for this test to give a positive result that is incorrect (false positive) in some people.
What does a negative COVID-19 antibody test mean?
A result of NEGATIVE means that antibodies to the SARS-COV-2 virus were not detected in your sample.
If you have been vaccinated: A result of NEGATIVE suggests that your body has not produced enough antibodies to SARS-COV-2 to be detectable in your sample.
Testing for antibodies induced by vaccination should be performed at least two weeks after complete vaccination (all required doses).
If you have NOT been vaccinated: A result of NEGATIVE suggests that your body has not produced enough antibodies to SARS-COV-2 to be detectable in your sample.
A NEGATIVE result does NOT mean:
It can take one to three weeks after an infection to develop enough antibodies to be detectable in this test.
In the months after an infection, antibody levels may decrease below the detection level.
Results from this test should NOT be used to diagnose a current SARS-COV-2 infection or to inform about the status of an infection. Conclusions about protective immunity to infection cannot be made on the basis of the results provided.
It is possible for this test to give a negative result that is incorrect (false negative) in some people.
Do I have to fast for the test?
No, you do not need to fast for the test.
If I currently have COVID-19 or just recently got a vacciation dose, when should I use my YourBio Health antibody test?
The body typically requires a few weeks to develop the antibodies to the (S) Protein of SARS-CoV-2, which this test detects. If you have been vaccinated or had a COVID-19 infection recently, we recommend waiting approximately 4 weeks from the date of your most recent vaccination dose or COVID-19 diagnosis to give your body time to produce the antibodies this test detects.
Do I need to skip my supplements or medications the day I take the test?
No, you do not need to skip your supplements or medications the day you take the test.
What happens to my sample after testing?
Once your sample has been received by the laboratory and tested for antibodies, the laboratory will dispose of your sample safely.
What can I expect to see from my results?
Your test report will show you the level of antibodies found in your blood sample, along with guidance on how to interpret the result.
I have questions about my results. Who do I ask?
